Answers to the questions we hear most.

Clear, plain-language answers about Medicare, your coverage options, and what it’s like to work with an advisor. Don’t see your question? We’re happy to help.

Working with an advisor

Do I even need an agent to help with Medicare?

You don’t have to use one, but a licensed advisor can save you a lot of time and second-guessing. We compare options across carriers, explain the trade-offs in plain language, and help match coverage to your doctors, medications, and budget — so you can choose with confidence rather than guessing.

Does it cost anything to talk to an advisor?

Reaching out and talking through your situation comes with no obligation. A licensed advisor will listen, answer your questions, and explain your options clearly so you can decide what’s right for you — there’s never any pressure.

Will you pressure me into a decision?

No. We’re here to inform and guide, not to push. The decision is always yours, and we’ll tell you honestly when staying with your current coverage is the better call.

Are you tied to one insurance company?

No — we’re an independent agency. That means we’re not loyal to any single carrier; we’re loyal to you. We compare options across multiple carriers to find what fits your needs and budget.

Will my information be kept private?

Yes. We respect your privacy and will never sell your information or pressure you into anything. We’re here to inform and guide — nothing more, nothing less.

Medicare

Is Medicare Advantage the same as Original Medicare?

No. Medicare Advantage (Part C) is offered by private carriers and bundles your coverage, often including drug coverage and extra benefits. Original Medicare is the federal program (Parts A and B). We can walk you through the differences.

Will my doctor be covered?

Medicare Advantage plans have networks, so it depends on the plan. We help you check whether your providers are included before you decide. With a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan, you can generally see any provider who accepts Original Medicare, without network restrictions.

What’s the difference between Plan G and Plan N (Medigap)?

Both are popular. Plan G tends to cover more out-of-pocket costs, while Plan N often has a lower premium with some cost-sharing. Because plan letters are standardized across carriers, comparing price and company reliability matters most — and we’ll help you weigh which fits your budget and preferences.

Can I switch plans later?

Medicare has specific enrollment periods during which changes can be made. We can explain the timing that applies to your situation, since plans and your needs can change year to year.

Prescriptions & other coverage

Do I need a Part D prescription drug plan?

If you take prescriptions and don’t have other creditable drug coverage, Part D can help. There may also be a late-enrollment penalty for going without creditable coverage. Bring us your medication list and we’ll compare options based on the drugs you actually take.

Does Medigap cover prescriptions?

No — Medigap doesn’t include drug coverage. You’d typically add a separate Part D plan, which we can help you choose.

Does Medicare cover dental and vision?

Original Medicare generally doesn’t cover routine dental or vision care. Some Medicare Advantage plans include these benefits, and standalone dental and vision plans are also available. We’ll help you compare bundled versus standalone options.

How much life insurance do I need?

It depends on your income, debts, family situation, and goals. We’ll help you work through a number that makes sense for you, and explain the difference between term and whole life so the type fits your situation too.

Does Medicare cover long-term care?

Original Medicare generally doesn’t cover extended custodial long-term care, which surprises a lot of people. We’ll explain what is and isn’t covered, and walk you through the options for planning ahead.
